- Do I need to apply for this licence?
You will need to apply for this general waste collector licence issued by the National Environment Agency (NEA) if you wish to conduct the business of Collecting or transporting general waste for payment or other remuneration; or Collecting or transporting used cooking oil from any food establishment. - What conditions do I need to fulfil?
The general waste collector licence is generally applicable to companies that are in the business of waste collection and transportation for disposal at disposal facilities including the refuse incineration plants or landfill or water reclamation plants. The proper type of waste collection vehicle(s) and equipment must be used for the collection and transportation of general waste from the collection point to the disposal facility. For further details, you may refer to NEA's website. - What supporting documents do I need to submit?
Certified true copies of Vehicle Registration Card for each of the vehicles Photographs of each of the vehicles, open top containers (OTCs), compactors and equipment used. For the complete list of documents required to be submitted, you may refer to NEA’s website. Applicants are reminded to ensure all documents are in place before licence application and to promptly furnish any other supporting document to NEA upon NEA’s request during the course of the application process. If your submitted application is still pending clarifications or submission of documents after our review, please respond/submit to NEA your clarifications/documents as soon as possible, to not delay the application process. Your application may be deemed as unsuccessful if any outstanding documents and/or clarifications are not submitted within 3 months from the date of your application. - How soon can my application be processed?
A complete application will be processed within three (3) working days, subject to the submission of all supporting documents and required information. Any omission or incorrect information furnished may require further clarification with the applicant resulting in a delay in the processing time. - If I am informed that my application is pending clarifications or submission of documents, how long do I have to respond/submit to NEA my clarifications/documents for my application?
Please respond/submit to NEA your clarifications/documents as soon as possible, to not delay the application process. Your application may be deemed as unsuccessful if any outstanding documents and/or clarifications are not submitted within 3 months from the date of your application. - How much does this licence cost and how long is it valid?
Licence fee - $195 per year (with effect from 1st Jan 2018). The Licence is valid for one year. - Who can I contact for further details?
