Application Details
Applicants seeking road closure permits for road and/or lane closures must submit the required and completed documents at least 30 days before the event date. All closure requests will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

- Do I need to apply for this permit?
Event organiser can request for a road and/or lane closure to conduct an event on the road. Request for road closures will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Event in this case, include:
Any sporting event (such as marathon, walkathon, triathlon or cycling rally); or
Any procession, parade, celebration, ceremony, gathering or activity. - What are the documents required when applying for a road closure permit?

Traffic Police processes the road closure application in consultation with LTA, after getting the required documents at least 30 days before the event.
Steps are as follow:
Step 1 :
Ensure that the event can comply to the following requirements.

Land Transport Authority (LTA)
To ensure the event meet LTA requirements before submission. For more information, please visit www.lta.gov.sg
Step 2 :
Seek clearance from the following agencies, if required :

Events that may require any sales or temporary occupation licence will require the relevant licence and permit from SLA. For more information, please visit;

Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)

Step 3 :
Engage Stakeholder
Engage stakeholders in the vicinity who are affected by the closure directly/indirectly. Establishments such as shops, places of worship and/or public/private amenities must be approached individually and acknowledged that they are supportive of the proposed closure/s.
Step 4 :
Prepare the required documents for submission:

Step 5 :
To log-in to GoBusiness Licensing using SingPass / CorpPass and submit all the required documents under 'Traffic Police Road Closure Permit'.
Step 6 :
Release of Road Closure Permit
If Successful : Road closure permit will be issued at least 3 days before the event date.
If Unsuccessful : Event may be continued without any road or lane closure.
Step 7 :
Put up signs along the affected road 2 weeks prior to the event.

Step 8 :
Execution of approved plans
Deploy the Security Personnel and barricades based on the approved plan.
Do ensure that the road closure is within the approved timing.
Event Organiser should also handle any feedback from the member of public.
Step 9 :
Removal of barricades and signs deployed
Barricades are to be removed from the road when the road closure is lifted and these barricades to be cleared away from site as soon as possible within the stipulated time given under the permit. - When must the application for road closure be submitted prior to the event?
Traffic Police will need to receive the application along with all the required documents at least 30 days before the event.
It is advisable to submit the application at the soonest to ensure ample time to address any issues and process the application. - Who can I contact for further details?
