Application Details
Consumption of liquor in all public places is restricted daily from 10.30 pm to 7.00 am.
In addition, Little India and Geylang are designated as Liquor Control Zones where there will be additional restrictions on consumption of liquor in public from:
(a) 7.00 am on Saturday to 7.00 am on Monday
(b) 7.00 pm on eve of a Public Holiday to 7.00 am on the day after a Public Holiday

When should I submit the consumption application?
Permit application with sufficient information shall be submitted at least 4 working days before the date of the event. -
What is a "public place"?
"Public place" refers to any place (whether open-air or enclosed) to which members of public have access. -
What are the events that are exempted from a Consumption Permit?
The consumption of liquor in public places during restricted hours is exempted from a Consumption Permit for the following:
(a) Consumption of liquor during events organised by the Government;
(b) Consumption of liquor during events organised by Statutory Boards and for a public purpose;
(c) Consumption of liquor at any celebrations of the Seven Month Festival of the Chinese Lunar Calendar organised by:
i. People's Association or any grassroots organisation of the People's Association; or
ii. A registered society defined in the Society's Act;
(d) Consumption of liquor in the immediate vicinity of a barbeque pit in a national park, the use in respect of which is authorised by a permit granted under the Parks and Trees Act 2005;
(e) Consumption of liquor regulated by a Liquor Licence issued by Police Licensing & Regulatory Board.

What is the penalty for the consumption of liquor at an event without a Consumption Permit?
The penalty for an offence of unlawful consumption of liquor in a public place under the Liquor Control Act is liable to:
- A fine not exceeding $1,000; and
- For repeat offenders, a fine not less not exceeding $2,000 or imprisonment not exceeding three months, or both. -
How soon can the application be processed?
The normal processing time is about 4 working days from the receipt of the application and the necessary supporting documents.
