Overview - Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG)
The Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) aims to support businesses in their sustainability journey by co-funding investment in energy-efficient (EE) equipment.
The EEG will provide two tiers of support – a Base Tier to provide support for pre-approved EE equipment up to a $30,000 cap; and an Advanced Tier to support companies that wish to make larger investments for greater energy efficiency.

EEG eligibility

Applicants must meet all the following eligibility criteria at the point of application for the respective tiers of support:
- Has a minimum of 30% local shareholding, with at least 1 local employee at the firm-level
- Has a group annual sales Turnover of no more than S$500mil
- The equipment purchased must be used in Singapore
The project shall not have commenced at the time of application.
Tier Eligibility Base Tier - Business entity registered and operating in Singapore in the Manufacturing (including Food Manufacturing), Food Services, and Retail sector as defined below:
- Manufacturing companies that are classified under SSIC 10 to 32 (including Food Manufacturing)
- Food Services companies must have valid Singapore Food Agency (SFA) licence and be classified under SSIC 56 or 68104
- Retail companies that are classified under SSIC 47
- Has a minimum of 30% local shareholding, with at least 1 local employee at the firm-level
- Has a group annual sales turnover of no more than S$500mil
- The equipment purchased must be used in Singapore
Advanced Tier (only available for selected sectors*) - Business entity registered and operating in Singapore in the Manufacturing (including Food Manufacturing) sector as defined below:
- Manufacturing companies that are classified under SSIC 10 to 32 (including Food Manufacturing)
- Has a minimum of 30% local shareholding, with at least 1 local employee at the firm-level
- Has a group annual sales turnover of no more than S$500mil
- The equipment purchased must be used in Singapore
*only applicable for companies in the Manufacturing sector.

As announced at Budget 2024, EEG will be expanded to more sectors including Construction, Maritime, and Data Centres and their users by end 2024. More details will be released in due course.

For companies in the Food Services and Retail sectors:
- Applicants can apply for the EEG (Base) through the Business Grants Portal (BGP).
For companies in the Manufacturing sector:
- Applicants can apply for the EEG (Base) and EEG (Advanced) via this email NEA_EEG@nea.gov.sg.
Note:
For EEG (Base)
Companies will have up to 1 year from the time an application is approved to purchase and install the equipment and submit claims for reimbursement. Once an application has been submitted, companies may purchase the equipment before the application outcome. However, companies will not be able to claim subsequently if the application is unsuccessful. This pre-approved energy efficient equipment listing is not to be taken as a form of endorsement or recommendation by the participating government agencies. Companies are reminded to carry out due diligence when engaging vendors, and not to collude with vendors to carry out submission of any grant applications or claims.
