Employer duties and obligations
Being an employer comes with various administrative and housekeeping matters. These include making CPF contributions for employees, arranging medical examinations for foreign employees and updating company particulars.
Your duties and obligations as an employer are defined by the Singapore Employment Act, summarised below.
Singapore Employment Act
The Employment Act is Singapore’s main labour law. It provides the basic terms and working conditions for all types of employees, with some exceptions.
The Employment Act contains statutory requirements on:

- Hours of work and overtime
- Annual leave and sick leave
- CPF contributions
